Garth Brooks is an American country music singer and songwriter. His 1991 album Ropin' the Wind made history as the first country album to debut at number one on the pop charts, earning him the Grammy Award for Best Male Country Vocal Performance. He is among the best-selling artists of all time, and his most popular songs include Friends in Low Places, Whatcha Gonna Do With a Cowboy, and If Tomorrow Never Comes.

After taking an extended hiatus from music to focus on his family in the early 2000s, Brooks came out of retirement in 2014 to tour the world alongside his wife and musician Trisha Yearwood, in support of his albums Man Against Machine and later Gunslinger. Brooks has appeared in the documentaries It All Begins with a Song and The Day the Music Died: The Story of Don McLean's American Pie, as well as the series Friends In Low Places.
