His 1992 hit Achy Breaky Heart was a global phenomenon and a milestone in contemporary country music, staying at the top of Billboard's country charts for longer than any song since 1967. He also made history by appearing on Lil Nas X's remix of Old Town Road, which stayed on top of Billboard's Hot 100 for 19 weeks.
