

Sheb Wooley
American musician and actor (1921–2003)
Sheb Wooley was an American musician and actor (1921–2003) best known for the novelty song The Purple People Eater. He released the albums Tales of How the West Was Won, The Purple People Eater, and Wild & Wooley. He also performed as Ben Colder in various country music releases throughout the 1960s and ’70s. His other popular songs include The Who Who Wallidinks and Wild And Wooley, Big Unruly Me. Wooley appeared in the film Hoosiers and the television series Murder, She Wrote and Rawhide, the latter alongside Clint Eastwood.
