
Peter Asher
Peter Asher is a British guitarist, singer, manager, and record producer. Asher was one half of 1960s hitmakers Peter & Gordon. Asher was named Director of A&R at Apple Records in 1968, where he signed James Taylor, producing his debut solo LP. He moved to the U.S. in 1969 to manage Taylor and went on to produce records for Linda Ronstadt, J.D. Souther, Andrew Gold, and Bonnie Raitt throughout the 1970s. Asher appeared in the films Outpost in Malaya, Bernard and Doris, and the documentary Immediate Family.
