Irene Cara was an American singer and actress. She sang the Oscar-winning title song for Fame, in which she appeared, and released the albums Anyone Can See, What a Feelin', and Irene Cara Presents Hot Caramel. Cara received the Academy Award, Golden Globe Award, and Grammy Award in 1984 for the Flashdance - Original Soundtrack from the Motion Picture album, which included the hit song Flashdance... What a Feeling. She subsequently released an extended version of the song. Cara also appeared in the films For Us, The Living and Sparkle.
