She is known for her role as Penny Lane in the film Almost Famous, for which she received the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress - Motion Picture. Hudson's film credits include Nine, A Little Bit of Heaven, Deepwater Horizon, Fool's Gold, and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. She has starred in the series Running Point.
