Eighteen albums deep, Gucci Mane is still defining his legacy across multiple eras of rap. On 2026’s Against All Odds, he examines the way he changed the game during his first era in the mid-2000s, his post-prison resurgence in the mid-2010s, and his victory lap as an elder statesman in the 2020s. He sums up his entire mission on opener “Back against the wall”: “Built for this life, I don’t fold under pressure/And every setback turned into something better.” Gucci’s career has been defined by overcoming roadblock after roadblock, and Against All Odds celebrates this perseverance. He doubles down on the retro, anthemic “All I have,” which features horns that hearken back to Gucci’s early days in the game. The rapper has always bet on himself, and on the track, he cashes in. He puts it bluntly: “All I have in this life is my balls and my word/How you feel, Gucci?/I feel it’s me against the world.” Our Favorite Lyric: “Priorities”: “Rather watch my children smile than put another opp to sleep/I got too much on the line, I can’t let emotions creep.”
