He helped Santos Football Club win the 2011 Copa Libertadores, their first continental title in 48 years, and was named South American Footballer of the Year in 2011 and 2012. He has played for FC Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain F.C., and Al Hilal. He won the UEFA Champions League with Barcelona in the 2014-2015 season and later led Brazil to their first Olympic gold medal in men's football at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
