Shirley Caesar is an American gospel singer and evangelist. She commenced her professional performing career in the late '50s as a member of the renowned gospel group The Caravans. Caesar left The Caravans in 1966 to pursue a solo career. She has since released albums Hymns, I Remember Mama, and The Ultimate Collection. Caesar collaborated with Kirk Franklin on 911 and has popular songs such as It's Alright, It's OK, and Jesus, I Love Calling Your Name. She has appeared in the documentary Gospel and the films The Fighting Temptations, and Oh Happy Day.
