- AUG 25, 2025 Upside Down - The 2nd Mini Album - EP
Korean musician CHANYEOL officially debuted as a rapper in the third-generation K-pop group EXO, but you might not know it from his solo work. On his second mini album Upside Down, released in 2025, the singer leans into his baritone vocals across six musically diverse songs. The electric rock title track chronicles the internal battle between the desire to disappear and the will to move on, while the R&B-infused “Back & Forth” wonders what happened in a loving relationship turned painful. Summery, rock-driven bop “Ocean Drive” brings joy before the fall on the acoustic guitar track “High & Dry,” which has the singer calling out for help from his lonely room. Slow-burn duet “Happy Accident” features Korean vocalist SOLE (formerly a member of WSG Wannabe and Live High) for its tale of a fortunate love, while “123 Dance” has CHANYEOL returning to his rap debut origins for a prescriptive hip-hop declaration: “Vibe, breathe, party, and dance.”
