Queen Latifah is an American rapper, singer, and actress. She released her debut album All Hail the Queen in 1989, followed by Nature of a Sista' and Black Reign, which included the popular Grammy-winning single U.N.I.T.Y. She acted and sang in film adaptations of the musical Hairspray (also starring John Travolta, Zac Efron, and Michelle Pfeiffer) and the musical Chicago (starring Catherine Zeta-Jones and Renée Zellweger), the latter of which earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
Queen Latifah has also acted in films such as Bringing Down the House, Taxi, and Girls Trip, and has appeared in television series including Star and The Equalizer.
