Ernie Watts
American jazz musician
Ernie Watts is an American jazz musician, famous for his work on the saxophone. Watts has played with a wide range of pop, rock, jazz, and R&B stars, including Cannonball Adderley, Buddy Rich, Oliver Nelson, Gerald Wilson, Marvin Gaye, Whitney Houston, and The Rolling Stones. He joined Charlie Haden's Quartet West in the mid-1980s. One of his most recognizable sax riffs can be heard on Glenn Frey's 1982 hit song The One You Love. As a leader, he's released albums, including Analog Man and To The Point.
