Matt Berninger is an American singer. He is a member of American indie rock band The National. Berninger also formed the new wave-influenced duo EL VY, releasing their debut album Return to the Moon which charted on the Billboard 200 in 2015. He released his first solo album Serpentine Prison in 2020. Among his most popular songs are Walking on a String, One More Second, and The Time I Have Left with Bright Eyes.
