American musician and actor
Isaac Hayes was an American musician and actor. He released the albums Hot Buttered Soul (1969) and the double album Black Moses (1971). Hayes wrote and performed the iconic Theme from Shaft, which was included on his 1971 album Shaft (Music From the Soundtrack). He received the Academy Award for Best Original Song and the Grammy Award for Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella for his work on Shaft in 1972. Hayes appeared in the films Escape From New York, Hustle & Flow, and Robin Hood: Men in Tights.
