Howard Shore is a Canadian composer. He composed the scores for both The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies. Shore received the Academy Award for Best Original Score for The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack and the Academy Award for Best Original Song for Into the West. His popular scores also include The Return of the King and numerous David Cronenberg collaborations. Shore appears in the documentary Score: A Film Music Documentary and the film Gilda Live.
