Eddie Redmayne is an English actor. He is known for his roles in Les Misérables, Jupiter Ascending, the Wizarding World franchise, and The Theory of Everything, in which he played Stephen Hawking and received the Academy Award for Best Actor. Redmayne began his portrayal of Newt Scamander in the Fantastic Beasts film series in 2016, also appearing in 2018's Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and 2022's Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore. He has also received the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play for Red and appeared in the series The Day of the Jackal.
