Her film credits include Sparkle, Tyler Perry's A Madea Christmas, and the Sonic The Hedgehog franchise. Sumpter also had notable television roles, playing Layla Williamson in the series One Life to Live for six years and appearing in mixed-ish. Beyond acting, she hosted Lemonada's parenting podcast The Suga and produced The Nomads.
