Doug McClure was an American actor (1935-1995). McClure appeared in the acclaimed miniseries Roots and the series The Virginian. He also starred in films such as At the Earth's Core, The Land That Time Forgot, The People That Time Forgot, and Humanoids from the Deep. Beyond acting, McClure directed several documentaries, including one on country-western singer Billy Mize. He was even parodied on The Simpsons as Troy McClure.
