American actor, entertainer and comedian
Dick Van Dyke is an American actor, entertainer, and comedian. He starred in The Dick Van Dyke Show, for which he received three Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. He also received the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Series for Van Dyke and Company. He also appeared in The Carol Burnett Show and Days of Our Lives. He produced the series Diagnosis Murder, which ran from 1993 to 2001. In 2024, he won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Performer in a Drama Series.
Van Dyke has also appeared in films such as Bye Bye Birdie (after winning the Tony for Best Supporting or Featured Actor in a Musical for the staged version), Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Dick Tracy, and Night At the Museum with Robin Williams.
Outside of acting, Van Dyke won a Grammy for Best Recording for Children for Mary Poppins and has released the singles We're Going Caroling with Jane Lynch and Young at Heart (From If You're Not in the Obit, Eat Breakfast).
