Meek Mill has gone indie, and he likes the way it feels. The Philly MC, a longtime affiliate of Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group, has begun releasing music under his own imprint, DreamChasers. The endeavor started with 2024’s Heathenism, but Meek fully embraces the DIY spirit on the rough-edged, freewheeling 2025 four-track release Indie Pack (Vol. 01). Though just 12 minutes long, the record finds the rapper invigorated and looking to reach the heights he got to on celebrated albums like 2012’s Dreams and Nightmares and 2018’s Championships. From the opening moments of “SAVE YOURSELF,” that hunger is still there. As he says during the outro, “But I ain’t forget to chase my goals.” Meek saves the best for last in the form of “4TH OF JULY,” a collaboration with fellow Philadelphia superstar Fridayy. The song serves as a spiritual sequel to their February 2025 collaboration, “Proud of Me,” with the duo reflecting on the tragedy and trauma in which heroes like Meek and Fridayy are forged.
