Japanese singer, actor, lyricist, composer (1948-)

Kenji Sawada is a Japanese singer, actor, lyricist, and composer. He was the lead singer of The Tigers between 1967 and 1971, one of Japan’s most popular Group Sounds bands. Following this, he formed PYG in 1971. He released the solo albums CO-CoLO1 ~ 夜のみだらな鳥達, Omoikiri Kizana Jinsei and Kakū no Opera (架空のオペラ). He has popular songs including Tokio, Toki no Sugiyuku Mamani, and Kikenna Futari. He has appeared in films such as Samurai Reincarnation and Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters. Sawada was the only Japanese artist other than Yoko Ono to grace the cover of Rolling Stone magazine.
