American contemporary folk musician
Joan Baez is an American contemporary folk musician. She released albums including her self-titled debut Joan Baez in 1960, Any Day Now, and Diamonds & Rust. Baez performed solo acoustic at Woodstock. She is known for her performances of It Ain't Me, Babe and The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, which are among her most popular songs, and helped bring the songs of Bob Dylan to a wider audience. Baez has appeared in documentaries such as Don't Look Back, Joan Baez: I Am a Noise, and the series American Masters. She released the song Diamonds and Rust from her album of the same name in 1975.
