American actor (1933 – 2019)
Danny Aiello was an American actor. His notable film roles include appearances in The Godfather Part II and Once Upon a Time in America, as well as performances in Moonstruck, Harlem Nights, and City Hall. Aiello received a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award nomination for playing Salvatore "Sal" Frangione in Spike Lee's 1989 film Do the Right Thing, He often showcased his musical talents, singing onscreen in Hudson Hawk and releasing the song "Papa Wants the Best for You" after playing the role of Madonna's father in the video for "Papa Don't Preach." Aiello died in 2019 at age 86.
