John Waite

English singer and musician (born 1952)

John Waite is an English singer and musician. He formed the rock band The Babys in London, England in 1976. The Babys earned a record contract based on the strength of a video demo they constructed with producer Mike Mansfield. Following the Babys' disbandment in 1981, Waite commenced his solo career the following year. He developed a close relationship with Jonathan Cain, who joined the Babys as keyboardist in 1978. Waite released albums including In Real Time, No Brakes, and Wooden Heart Acoustic Anthology: The Complete Recordings. His most popular songs include Missing You and Change. He appears in the documentary John Waite: The Hard Way.
