SAVAGE HOUSE is set in 18th-century England, where Sir Chauncey (Richard E. Grant) and Lady Savage (Claire Foy) find themselves in financial and social disrepute. When the fancy Devonshires write to ask if the couple can accommodate them on their upcoming tour, the Savages pull out all the stops to prepare for the visit from the higher class couple. Going to extremes to refurbish their estate and plan an elaborate meal that will get society talking in all the right ways, they sell what's left of their art and jewels, and put their few remaining members of staff hard at work. But can they really pull off a miracle to climb back up the social ladder, and what else will they have to sacrifice in their quest?
