Dave Liebman

American jazz composer, saxophonist and flautist

Dave Liebman is an American jazz composer, bandleader, and musician with more than 250 albums in his discography. A pioneer in atonality and recipient of a NEA Jazz Masters lifetime achievement award, Liebman played .saxophone and flute. Over the course of his career, he has collaborated with many jazz luminaries, including pianist Richie Beirach, reedist Joe Lovano, drummer Jack DeJohnette, and pianist Mike Nock. Liebman has been nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Instrumental Solo (now Best Jazz Performance) twice, in 1998 and 2004.
