Howe Gelb is an American singer-songwriter, musician, and record producer. He formed the first incarnation of Giant Sand out of the Giant Sandworms in 1980. Gelb later released the solo albums Hisser in 1998 and Confluence in 2001. He also released the albums Alegrías with A Band of Gypsies and The Coincidentalist / Dust Bowl and guested on Blacklisted by Neko Case. Among his most popular songs are All You Need to Know, Vortexas, and Reality or Not. Gelb has appeared in the films Jackie and Quantum Cowboys.
