Mario del Monaco was an Italian opera singer. He appeared at Covent Garden, performing as Canio, Cavaradossi, and Pinkerton. He also performed at the San Francisco Opera and the Metropolitan Opera several times.

Del Monaco released several notable albums, including Puccini: Il Trittico with Renata Tebaldi and Robert Merrill, Verdi: Il Trovatore with Renata Tebaldi and Giulietta Simionato, and Verdi: Otello. He also collaborated with Renata Tebaldi on the arias Manon Lescaut, Act II: Oh, sarò la più bella! and Tu, tu, amore tu, and with Dimitri Mitropoulos and Ettore Bastianini on Ernani: Act II. Additionally, he sang La forza del destino: Solenne in quest'ora with Ettore Bastianini. He appeared in the film First Love. Del Monaco died in 1982.
