Artie Shaw was an American clarinetist, composer, and bandleader. He appears on Artie Shaw - Greatest Hits, The Essential Artie Shaw, and Swingsation: Tommy Dorsey & Artie Shaw with Tommy Dorsey. Shaw's most popular songs include Moon Ray, A Pretty Girl Is Like A Melody, and Frenesi. After retiring from music in the mid-'50s, Shaw pursued a career as a writer. He appeared in the film Second Chorus. Shaw died in 2004.
