Tip celebrates his resilience. There’s a famous line from HBO’s The Wire in which the show’s Robin Hood-like character Omar Little proclaims: “You come at the king, you best not miss.” T.I. takes this message to heart on his 2026 album KILL THE KING, his first effort since 2020’s The L.I.B.R.A. Those that aimed at T.I., whose most popular work remains 2006’s aptly titled King, seemingly missed their shot to take him down for good: On KILL THE KING, he’s back and he’s coming after those who proved to be all bark and no bite. After an intro led by the rapper’s daughter Heiress Harris, Tip immediately sets the stakes for the record on “SEE WH’AM SAYIN.” Over a soulful, shuffling beat from DJ Toomp, Clifford Harris reflects on the weight he carries: “Man, I must say, all the trauma dues that I must pay/Tend to threaten my namaste/Man, but I know that all the respect that I protect/You internet cats is not no threat.” On “RANT,” he explains why he’s remained comfortable despite attacks from opps, enemies scattered everywhere he looks: “I’m comfy in the fire, ain’t gonna lie, I kinda like it there.”
