

Nelson Mandela
Nelson Mandela was a President of South Africa and anti-apartheid activist. He co-founded the ANC Youth League in 1944, became its chairman in 1951, and enrolled in the University of Witwatersrand to begin his law studies. He also studied at the University of Fort Hare and the University of South Africa. Mandela was acquitted of treason charges in 1961 and served 27 years in prison for opposing apartheid. He appeared in the documentaries Voices From Robben Island and Mandela.
