Sun Ra was an American jazz composer and bandleader (1914-1993). Sun Ra pioneered a musical style integrating big-band Ellingtonia, free jazz, electronic soundscapes, and celestial themes. He released the albums Space Is the Place in 1973 and Lanquidity. Sun Ra appeared in the documentary Sun Ra: A Joyful Noise and the film SPACE IS THE PLACE. His popular songs include Lanquidity, That's How I Feel, and Purple Night Blues.
