Joe DiMaggio was an American baseball player (1914-1999). He holds the Major League Baseball record for the longest hitting streak at 56 games and led the New York Yankees to ten American League pennants and nine World Series championships over his 13-season career. DiMaggio was selected to the All-Star team each year of his career and won three American League Most Valuable Player awards.
