Rod Stewart is a British singer and songwriter. After beginning his career as a singer and musician with several groups, he launched his solo career in 1969 with debut album An Old Raincoat Won't Ever Let You Down. His first major breakthrough single was 1971’s Maggie May, initially released as a B-side. With a career spanning over six decades, Stewart has released over 30 studio albums including Every Picture Tells a Story, Never a Dull Moment, A Night On the Town, and Foot Loose & Fancy Free.
Although his first Grammy nominations were in 1969, Stewart won his first Grammy Award in 2005 for Stardust...The Great American Songbook Volume III. The album featured collaborations with Dolly Parton, Stevie Wonder, Eric Clapton, and Bette Midler. One of the best-selling artists of all time, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist in 1994, appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2007, and knighted in 2016.
Stewart was a member of The Jeff Beck Group and Faces, which also featured The Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood. He has appeared in documentaries such as The Story of Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood - Somebody Up There Likes Me, and the live concert film Rod Stewart: One Night Only!.
