Eliades Ochoa

Cuban singer and composer

Eliades Ochoa is a Cuban singer and composer. He developed a career as a professional musician in Santiago de Cuba, playing with groups including the Oriental Quintet and the Típico Septet. From the mid-1980s, he sometimes worked with Compay Segundo, appearing throughout Cuba and visiting other Central American countries and the U.S.

He's released albums including El Eliades Que Soy, Sublime Ilusión, and Estoy Como Nunca, and appeared in the film Buena Vista Social Club. He's also worked with artists including Bob Dylan and Charlie Musselwhite.
