
Laverne Cox
Laverne Cox is an American actress and LGBT advocate. She appeared in the legal drama Doubt, the TV musical The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let's Do the Time Warp Again, and the series Orange Is the New Black and Clean Slate. Cox starred in films including Can You Keep a Secret? with Alexandra Daddario, Jolt with Kate Beckinsale, and Promising Young Woman. She was the first openly transgender person to be nominated for an Emmy Award in an acting category. Cox produced the documentary Disclosure and the series If We're Being Honest With Laverne Cox. She also released the singles Beat for the Gods and America the Beautiful, and hosts the podcast The Laverne Cox Show.
