On television, she appeared in the series Big Love, Once Upon a Time, and Why Women Kill. Goodwin earned an Acting Shakespeare Certificate from London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and furthered her studies at Stratford-upon-Avon's Shakespeare Institute.
