American singer and musician (1936–2020)
Charlie Daniels was an American singer and musician (1936-2020). He blended country music with rock influences, creating a unique sound incorporating pedal steel and rock-style riffs. Daniels released his solo debut album in the early 1970s and is known for his song The Devil Went Down to Georgia. With The Charlie Daniels Band, he released the albums Full Moon, Night Hawk, and Steel Witness. Daniels appeared in the documentary Urban Cowboy: The Rise and Fall of Gilley’s, the film Lynyrd Skynyrd: One More for the Fans, and the film Urban Cowboy starring John Travolta. Among his most popular songs are Cowboys Like a Little Rock and Roll with Chris LeDoux and Boogie Woogie Fiddle Country Blues.
