Vittorio Gassman was an Italian actor. Known as Il Mattatore, he is considered one of the great Italian actors. He wrote, starred in, and co-directed Kean: Genius or Scoundrel, and appeared in films such as Big Deal on Madonna Street, War and Peace, Barabbas, Virginity, Sharky's Machine, and Sleepers alongside Brad Pitt and Robert De Niro.
