Don Messick
American voice actor (1926–1997)
Don Messick was an American voice actor (1926-1997). He starred in his own one-man radio show on Maryland's WBOC at the age of 15, and later moved to Hollywood. After being discovered by animator Bob Clampett, he signed a six-year contract to work on televised puppet shows. In 1957, he became a voice actor for the newly formed animation studio Hanna-Barbera. He voiced numerous characters for TV and film over the following four decades, including roles on The Ruff and Reddy Show, The Flintstones, The Yogi Bear Show, The Jetsons and the Scooby-Doo franchise.
