Seeking answers, he reluctantly joins forces with the eccentric Nine Gates masters, including Huo Xian Gu (Chen Yao) and Wu Lao Gou (Joseph Zeng). Their search leads them to the eerie World-Parting Tower, a shifting labyrinth where time and space collapse in on themselves.
