American singer, songwriter, and actress

Cyndi Lauper is an American singer, songwriter, and actress who has sold over 50 million albums worldwide. Her 1983 debut She's So Unusual won Lauper the Grammy Award for Best New Artist and yielded four top-five hits, including Girls Just Want to Have Fun and Time After Time. 


She received a Primetime Emmy Award in 1995 for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series, for her role in Mad About You. She also won a Tony Award for Best Original Score in 2013, for her work on the hit musical Kinky Boots. Lauper has appeared in the documentary Cyndi Lauper: Let the Canary Sing, as well as the films Life With Mikey and The Opportunists. Lauper also co-founded True Colors United, a non-profit that addresses homelessness among LGBTQ youth.
