Don Knotts was an American actor and stand-up comedian. Knotts appeared in the ensemble of The Steve Allen Show from 1956 to 1960 and co-starred in The Andy Griffith Show, playing the character Barney Fife, from 1960 to 1968. For this role, he received a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series in 1961. Knotts also starred in the television series Three's Company from 1979 to 1984. He appeared in the films The Apple Dumpling Gang, Pleasantville alongside Paul Walker and Reese Witherspoon, and Jingle Bells. Knotts passed away in 2006.
