Ian McKellen is a celebrated English actor. His awards include a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Series, Miniseries or Television Film for Rasputin and a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play for Amadeus. McKellen appeared as Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, as well as in Beauty and the Beast in 2017, and co-wrote the screenplay for Richard III in 1995.
