Merle Haggard was an American country music songwriter, singer, and musician. His 1969 single, Okie from Muskogee, was one of his signature and most influential songs. He released tribute records to Jimmie Rodgers and Bob Wills. His most popular songs include Big City, Pancho and Lefty with Willie Nelson, and Are the Good Times Really Over (I Wish a Buck Was Still Silver). Haggard appeared in the documentaries Billy Mize and the Bakersfield Sound and Blaze Foley: Duct Tape Messiah.
