Ruth Brown was an American singer-songwriter. Her releases include Miss Rhythm - Greatest Hits and More, Ruth Brown, and The Essentials: Ruth Brown. Her most popular songs include I Wanna Do More, Mama He Treats Your Daughter Mean, and I Don't Know. Brown began her career on Atlantic Records in the label's infancy and did much to establish Atlantic as the premier R&B label. She was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1993 and appeared in the documentary Lightning In a Bottle, the film Hairspray, and the film True Identity. Ruth Brown passed away in 2006.
